Birthday Boy

Yesterday was the Wonderful Dutchman's Birthday.... We headed for the sea!!

I think we both miss the sea air of Brighton, and it was glorious to have our toes in the sand, and a strong sea breeze....

We headed to Studland, to Shell Bay to stare out at Old Harry and Durdle Door....this coast line of Dorset is breathtaking.....

It was hot....the Bob was happy he had just had his long hair cut off at the groomers!!

We enjoy this peaceful place so much...it holds happy memories, and we vowed that when we have kids we will take a holiday here every year.....toes in the sand, the smell of sun cream, gulls soaring, laughter heard all over the beach.....it is my happy place, and I think it is quickly becoming the Dutchman's too!

 Hot Dog Day!!

The Birthday boy!!

The seaweed was such pretty colours, the water was COLD!!

My two favorite men.... aren't they handsome??!!

Waiting for the ferry, the sun slowly fading....our skin tingling with sun, our feet sandy, but our hearts are full....

Another stunning day at the beach....another beautiful memory

Even the evening rain didn't dampen our spirits!!
Happy Birthday Darling, I hope you liked your present!!

A surprise named Marjorie

My dear Ma came to see me for my birthday last week. We were excited as as she got out of the car the red arrows flew over head... we ran down to the sea front and saw the most amazing sight. They were stunning, and a real treat for my Birthday morning...unfortunately we ran down so quickly, so not to miss any of the action...we both forgot our cameras! The bob thought he was off for another walk...no such luck!

When they had finished we strolled back to the car....and look who was in the back!!

She is my Grandma's bike... I found her recently, lonely and unused in their garden shed, while looking for the garden chairs.... I made a comment about how gorgeous she was, and hey presto she turned up for my Birthday... I am just so lucky!

I have wanted a bike for a while, and found this one on the net....but she was far too expensive.

Marjorie is far nicer... and has wonderful special memories... thank you Grandma!

A breezy Birthday...

It is the Wonderful Dutch mans Birthday today!!

We wanted to go to the beach for a picnic, but the wind down here today is so strong, we decided to head for our favourite spot in one of Brighton's many squares.

I had made the famous Davies pie for the occasion...yum! Salad and potato salad, simple yet srcummy!

I made him a 'Be Happy' cake topper...well, cookie topper....but the wind made it more difficult to photograph!

The birthday Boy himself!

....with his beloved Hertog Jan....

This is a photo of his Birthday pressie from me. A stunning 1900's print of Amsterdam...this photo does not do it justice....the colours are so amazing... he loved it...phew!

The picnic was short lived, the cold wind won... we are now off to snuggle on the sofa with a good film!

Have a wonderful Weekend xxx

New Camera, Birthday's and Surprise Gifts

Firstly, I want to Thank Maggie Lee for surprising me with an unexpected Birthday gift. I had a 'tried to deliver' note from the postman on Wednesday; I'm expecting a wedding dress from an American bride, so I assumed it was that.

So yesterday was the only chance I had to pick up the package. I came out of the office slightly confused as the package didn't look big enough for a dress. So being the most impatient girl in the world I opened it while walking down the street!! It was a lovely new Clarins Hand Cream, a birthday card and some photos of her day !!!! I was so touched...... And it just shows me what a lucky girl I am in all aspects of my life....so once again Maggie 'Thank you'.... You really didn't have to..... but I do love it!! xxx

My Dutch man's roses are still as beautiful as ever! One for my bedside....

I feel completely spoilt with my birthday presents....even Bob got me a box of Dolly Mixture's, tied with a ribbon... but I did get the most fantastic camera. It will allow me to take close up photos of my work, to hopefully show you the details in my work (when I work out how to use it!!) The above photo is of a corsage I made for a wedding show....simple yet gorgeous!

Have a lovely weekend...I hope the sun is shinning with you!

PS...as requested the price of the Sparkling Feather Corsage is £55...hope that helps Kel!
