Golden Brown Temptress

Can you feel that Autumn chill in the air?
This bouquet reminds me of those glorious first days of the season....leaves turning, winter boots & the smell of open fires....oh how I adore autumn!

I am loving these gold toned bouquets.
I have made more this year than ever before...and it has been a joy!

A soft sweep of crystal

A beautiful vintage brooch

A precious photo...of absent family...gone but always remembered.
Holding hands with the past never ceases to touch me.

The past sparkling along side the new.... whispering gently, words of wisdom
a new season is approaching, run into your destiny, your future awaits.

Wishing you all a very happy weekend

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Our's is growing like wild fire....

The sweet peas are smelling divine....

I pulled the spring onions today...they may be small, but boy they are fierce!

Our ivy is taking over!

Some cute violas to add a touch of colour to the brick wall.

Crazy sweetpeas....

Giant Tomatoes....

Cherry tomatoes which are the size of golf balls

Scrummy scented David Austin roses....bliss!

Trailing 'snowflake' running a mock on the decking

Washed and ready for dinner!

I know it is only a fraction of what some peoples gardens can grow...however this is our first garden, we are new to this! The Wonderful Dutchman has super green fingers and is enjoying every second he spends out there. I however have just loved to grow the veg! We have had Salad, herbs, spring onions, rocket...and soon the tomatoes, however I might be making green tomato chutney!!!

Has your garden been a delight this year?

Wholly Unique

When someone hands you Eric Carle's 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' fabric, some colourful star buttons, a handmade hand stamped disc, vintage lace, and a vintage key....what would you make?

A Challenge is the first thing that I thought; next ....totally out of my comfort zone....then add in the fact this is for a super talented friend with bright pink hair, a Vaudeville themed wedding, a illustrator of children's books, who is marrying the most splendid metal sculptor in the whole of Britain....the nerves start to kick in.

This bouquet took more time and care than my own VM bouquet!! I was feeling the pressure! But the minute I had an idea in my head, I was on a roll.
I have to admit I went away from what Miss Nats wanted....she originally wanted it made from the fabric roses...but with a fabric as busy as this, you where struggling to see any detail of the vintage items that was going into it, which I thought was a shame.

So for the first time, I redirected the brides vision....sent the email with the photos and prayed that she understood what I had done and why.....I waited......

Her reply was this...

Emma Bakker you wonderful wonderful lady!!!It is stunning! I am blown away!!!!Thank you thank you thank you!!!! I'm so excited! did i mention that I love you and you are wonderful!!??  its amazing....to be honest, i don't really know what my vision was, but i know i love it! "

So I think it is safe to say she likes it....and I can breath a sigh of relief!
Thank you Miss Nats for pushing my creativity, for being wholly unique and a wonderful friend.

I can enjoy the wedding next week with a little bit of pride to have been a part of this amazing couples day.

Wishing all the Luck, Love & Happiness to Nats & Luke !

Wedding fever...

Its safe to say pale ivory, whites, and creams have been the theme of the year so far.
My favorites this year have all been gold toned bouquets...fact!
Its been crazy times and I have 2 more in progress. Then I start to chill out to a more manageable amount of work! I cannot wait ;)
