Save it!

Remember these?
They are my most viewed blog post, so I thought I would make some more for you :)

Vintage Maps are still one of my favorite things, so where better to start?

My trusty stamps & bakers twine.

These are a joy to make and take me back to our gorgeous flat in Brighton and all the excitement of planning our wedding...such happy memories!

Today August saw how a hole punch worked...he was fascinated and dragged it around the house for a good hour afterwards!

The luggage labels are in my shop now. If you need bigger quantities let me know.

Our Wedding Album

This Christmas The Wonderful Dutchman and me decided to give our families an album of our lovely wedding pictures. I had seen Blurb books before and thought I would see what they had to offer...I started playing about with their software...found it to be so easy and fun...and after 3 nights our album was finished.

We are so pleased with the finished result. It feels just as wonderful as albums we had seen through photographers. It looks so professional, and everyone was delighted with them. We ordered 4 books and everyone was perfect.

Yet again it is another DIY element to our wedding day that I thought you might like to see...I would recommend Blurb to anyone....affordable, fun and professional results.

You can use any photos and script, you can even make your own novel!! I simply love the idea, and i'm sure we will use them again and again for present ideas, and family memories.

Sweet Sixth

On Thursday it was out sweet six month anniversary....six months of change, stress, excitement, & hard work. But through it all we held hands, smiled, laughed, pulled silly faces and love each other.....I wont lie ...it had been a hard & tough first six months of marriage.... but we are stronger for it.....and as I got whisked away for dinner, we sat and chatted about what a whirl wind we have been living. We remembered all the perfect moments of our wedding day, about the many beautiful weddings we are going to attend this year, and about our future....only the happy memories matter in this game of life...

...Oh....and we pigged out!!

Our Wedding ~ Mini Moon

Today was another grey January day, so I thought I would post something sunny and happy to raise all of our spirits today.....

We went on a Mini moon after our wedding to my favorite county in England...Somerset.... a tiny village was our home for 4 nights, and our little studio summer house was a little gem!

We wanted to relax and have nothing to think about or do....after 12 months of planning our wedding I was delirious with happiness about this small fact....left over prosecco from the wedding and chilli olives were small details as I could manage....a wonderful Birthday hamper was supplied by my Beautiful Ma...

....Look sunglasses......swoon....where is the sunshine now? Our blooming bliss of relaxation written all over our faces!...

....My favorite garden is the most stunning National Trust house....The garden was planted with all white flowers including lots of camomile which we had on our wedding tables...

As a child I lived on a farm.. I.played in bull pens....never did they look this divine.... ours were metal and concrete....these beauties where brick built, wooden gates, and rose surrounds....what happy bulls they must have been...

Dahlia heaven...simple things are so effective on a grand scale....

A happy pair of feet.....a lily pond with lily pads the size of a dinner plates...

The house used to belong to Sir Arthur Lyle, of the Tate & Lyle sugar fame he restored it wonderfully, and had added dutch tiles to every bathroom a lovely coincidence! It is the only National Trust House that I have been to where there is no furniture....it is totally empty...and it really makes you see the house in all its glory.

....it had the most stunning stone lions....a glorious kitchen garden, which supplies the restaurant, where we has a scrummy lunch....

We had the most relaxing, happy and gentle time...bathed in love and sunshine....
Mini Moons rock!!

Our Wedding ~ My Bouquet

So, here we go!! The first part of our wedding..... My bouquet.

I have to admit that this task daunted me...I felt the pressure of creating something different and super special that everyone would be amazed by...then I thought about it.

I realised that the bouquets I love are the ones with personal pieces, simple styling, and plenty of sparkle!

So that is what I created.... I re-worked it 3 times until I was happy with it....then I added the drop a week before the wedding!!

Then I was a happy Magpie ;)

It contains all my favorite things..... a beautiful French Ribbon, which matched my dress perfectly.... some of the Wonderful Dutchmans Mum's lace.

A cute gold drop brooch which I love....

Some lucky clover....with a touch of our green.... and my Grandma's Pearls....I never met her but she was with me on my wedding day.

A Dutch Windmill!! and some gorgeous Mother of Pearl buttons.

It is filled with pieces I have kept for this ocassion, it is filled with my history, my future and I love it. It was a joy to hold on my wedding day, it was passed around the tables and everyone got a up close look!
Joy, Sparkle and Love....a perfect recipe for a bouquet xxx

The Wonderful Dutchman

In a week I will be the Wonderful Dutchman's Wife....... This fills me with so much joy and happiness. I cannot wait to have this beautiful man by my side forever.

I have never really talked about him openly on my little blog, but I think you understand all ready just how Wonderful he is.
He is adoringly sweet, thoughtful, gentle, loving, funny, kind, super talented and loyal.
Considering he is Dutch he is a great Scrabble player and completes The Telegraph crossword most days! He is my own personal spell checker, and a computer whizz.
His love for music is immense, and is never without his trusty iPod Eve. I think this is an inherited trait, as his Wonderful Dutch Dad presents a radio show in Holland.
He pulls the funniest faces, which never fails to get a smile....he gives the best hugs and shows me the beauty of love everyday.
He washes the dishes every day....(i struck gold with this one didnt I?)
He is a DIY genius.
He walkes around countless boot sales and flea Markets without a fuss. He loves old books and maps, and his eyes light up if he finds anything Dutch.
He ADORES cheese! And I mean ADORES cheese ;)

Our wish is a simple one, this wine bottle sums it all up. We will strive to live our life to the full...enjoy every second....and pull funny faces every day!!!

I am so very proud to become Mrs Bakker

2 weeks to go...and lots of food photos!

With two weeks to go, I thought I would share some of the fab meals and treats I have been having in the last month or two...I adore taking photos of food....it reminds me how sweet life can be and I get to remember all the tastes, moments, smells, laughter and chat that was served along with it..... I heart food!

Let start with breakfast.....eggs Benedict yummy...my all time favourite....... I wont be trying to create this on my wedding morning, a little too complex!

My cousins hangover cure of a Virgin Mary.... and a refreshing fresh mint tea for me....I luckily had no hangover!

T.H.E most hugest of hugest carrot cakes....I have to say this beat me....I ended up feeding it to friends and the wonderful Dutchman......

A gorgeous friend got married in July...she had an ice cream van!!!! we pigged out!

This Thai restaurant has the best name....The Giggling Squid....we had to try it out....this is where the hangover occurred!

My friend Jo unfortunately missed my Hen do so she treated me to more cake!! they has to be the prettiest cakes.......lime green and purple.....too cute and totally divine!

This was my starter on my Hen do.....we had a lovely day and a gorgeously scrummy dinner.... I will post about it soon once I have a few good photos!

Life has been busy in the run up to our wedding...but I have been having a huge amount of fun, surrounded by fantastic people who I love to pieces.
~THANK YOU SO MUCH ~
P.S A diet was never on the list of things to start once I got engaged...I have loved not missing out on anything.....
P.P.S I have good under ware for the big day ;) !!!

Last but not least...

This is my last bouquet I have created before my own wedding in THREE WEEKS!!!!!

I simply cannot believe it is that near....the butterflies are starting to awaken....but more than anything, I am so excited...it seems unreal and slightly strange.... but I am enjoying all the preparations. (Including the very creative Hen do I had....photos to follow shortly!)

So I am now relaxing without any Vintage Magpie work....but I had to share this lovely pewter shower bouquet with you....I love the softness of the roses and the sweet scalloped lace ribbon.... and I adore the mother of pearl buckle...simple...but radiating style.

Imagine this against a lace overlay fishtailed dress............ohhh I cannot wait to see the photos!

Happy long weekend everyone xxx

Our Wedding ~ Favour Tags

I have posted these gorgeous little tags before...... I adore them so much! I got them here...

Originally I was going to stick them on our favour bags...but in true wedding style things have changed. So I though a swing tag would be better....I set to work sticking them to my beautiful vellum that we used on our wedding invites.

I evenly spaced them, then cut them out.....

...I was left with a satisfying deck of cute rounds...not perfect....but what is?

...I then took my largest needle and threaded my divine twine through. I have to say that this twine is an utter delight....It has been used on EVERYTHING so far, and there is still tonnes left.... I love the look it gives and they make it in loads of colours!

....I then simply knotted the twine.....

.....Job Done!!!!!!!!

Once again a lovely fun part of the wedding preparation. Simple enough for even the non-crafty Bride!
I have finished all my VM work until our wedding...it feels weird not to be thinking about all my wonderful brides....wiring crystals, or finding vintage treasure, but it is lovely to relax and to have only this bride to think of!
5 weeks to go...........I cannot believe how quickly it has gone! xxx
