Rainbow Days

                  

These glorious hazy summer days are bringing the colour into my work.

1950's Childrens flash cards made into luggage labels, finished off with my beloved Divine twine.

                                       

                 

Baby Matilda arrived a few weeks ago and we are off to visit her on sunday....The wonderful one is baking her a cake and I made the decorations! I adore this simple fun rainbow colourway.

                 

This however is my usual white felt backing with rainbow silks...not so in your face...but just as fun!

All these sunny days are spent trying to entertain a teething toddler...life seems to be going at some sort of super speed and i cannot believe it is July already...i wish it would slow down a bit and give me a chance to soak it all up at a more leisurely pace.

Miss Ingredient's VM Bunting Cake!!

Miss Ingredient asked to design a cake around my lovely 'Love' cake bunting and Wow doesn't it look amazing??

I can see the beautiful country inspired wedding where this cake would shine.... gorgeous jam jar filled with summer blooms, bunting swaying in the breeze, hessian table runners and a stunning Bride in a flowing gown.

A Birthday Surprise

My Darling Mum had her Birthday yesterday....The Wonderful Dutchman and me made her a special cake...it had a surprise inside!!!

She was delighted and gasped like little girl when she cut into it...

The little moments are the most joyful

2 weeks to go...and lots of food photos!

With two weeks to go, I thought I would share some of the fab meals and treats I have been having in the last month or two...I adore taking photos of food....it reminds me how sweet life can be and I get to remember all the tastes, moments, smells, laughter and chat that was served along with it..... I heart food!





Let start with breakfast.....eggs Benedict yummy...my all time favourite....... I wont be trying to create this on my wedding morning, a little too complex!

My cousins hangover cure of a Virgin Mary.... and a refreshing fresh mint tea for me....I luckily had no hangover!

T.H.E most hugest of hugest carrot cakes....I have to say this beat me....I ended up feeding it to friends and the wonderful Dutchman......

A gorgeous friend got married in July...she had an ice cream van!!!! we pigged out!

This Thai restaurant has the best name....The Giggling Squid....we had to try it out....this is where the hangover occurred!

My friend Jo unfortunately missed my Hen do so she treated me to more cake!! they has to be the prettiest cakes.......lime green and purple.....too cute and totally divine!

This was my starter on my Hen do.....we had a lovely day and a gorgeously scrummy dinner.... I will post about it soon once I have a few good photos!

Life has been busy in the run up to our wedding...but I have been having a huge amount of fun, surrounded by fantastic people who I love to pieces.

P.S A diet was never on the list of things to start once I got engaged...I have loved not missing out on anything.....

Did I mention the Cake?

Sometimes I think I talk about cake too much....maybe? just a little too much?

I have to say one of the most delightful things is to have tea and cake... cup cakes, fruit cake, biscuits, flapjacks, brownies....do you catch my drift?....I love it!

As I start looking for more and more cake inspiration for the wedding...I wonder...do all these gorgeous looking cakes taste as good as they look? Or is the beauty on the outside the only thing that is important?



Even though I love all the cakes above, this one below is my favorite....simple, homemade, a sweet fairy cake...or now better known as a cupcake....it makes me smile....

I adore everything about it.... the fact it is sitting on an upturned wineglass is total genius....guests would gasp and wonder when to eat it!!

The sparkler and the little ribbon bow are. simply...sweet!
