New ideas...
For a while now I have been wanting to try new ideas, but that little thing called time was never there. The most amazing fact about having a workshop is that you get to sit and play all day!
The Nest is proving to be an inspiration. Having all your bits and bobs to hand, never having to roam the flat trying to remember where I have put something. The fact that I have opening hours and simply have to be there is the best discipline a girl could have!
In the last week I have made; necklaces, bag/mobile phone charms, cake toppers, ring pillows and fascinators!
The skill of taking a photo of your head was lost on me... I must have looked an idiot in the shop today. But at least the fascinator looks good!! Unlike my nose...The Wonderful Dutch Man said that I must have been telling lies...... the cheek!! I'm blaming the angle!

As I have told you before 'The Secret' is a huge source of positive energy for me. This was my word of wisdom this morning.
Enjoy your weekend xxx

Made in England
Even my big bosomed lady gets a 'God Bless The Queen' 1940's ribbon sash!
I didn't have a sign for my door, so I scanned some funky letters and of course the Scotties had to make an appearance!
This is Vintage Magpie's latest creation... fingers crossed the Bride loves it.

Babies Everywhere
I think the ladies of Sussex had a pact to conceive at the same time.
I have only been there a few days, and I think it is rubbing off. I made two cake toppers and both are perfect for a new born, a Christening, or a first birthday.
Let me know if they are perfect for your little bundles of joy!! £75 each.
Blue for a Boy!

Positive & Productive
Well not today.
I have cleaned and tidied my workshop, finding all sorts of things I had forgotten about. Like these lovely ladies... One has been adapted to hold needles, with a tiny cork in the bottom.
The Nest was filled with the dazzling sunlight of a gorgeous day waking up outside... The drawers were filled with rainbows.
I finished off 2 orders, and made a cake topper with fab cream butterflies. I also played around with a hair piece, feathers galore!!
Found the new May/June issue of You & Your Wedding has featured Vintage Magpie!! Isn't the photo so beautiful? A title WOW bouquets... who wouldn't be excited!!
Lots of positive comments on the nest, and a visit from a little lady who assured me my workshop was the sparkly-ist she had ever seen, and declared it beautiful! Well I'm glad she approved...I rather like it too!!

Opening Day!
A gift from the wonderful Dutch man to bring me luck! Everyone always comments on these stunning ranunculus.
I was visited by my Dad, my best friend, and the wonderful artist Nat's. She came in to drop off these wonderful wedding cards!! Aren't they great? Totally unique...I love them!
The thoughtful and ever so useful Vintage tool box, that was giving to me by my Mum was quickly filled with all my sparkly pieces....so nice to have everything to hand.
Tea and Cupcake anyone?
I sit here all cup caked out, with a smile... I adore my new workspace!
Happy Weekend x

The Invitation ~ Oriah Mountain Dreamer
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon...I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shrivelled and closed from fear of further pain. I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy mine or your own if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning usto be careful, to be realistic to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself. If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul. If you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty even when it is not pretty, every day. And if you can source your own life from its presence. I want to know if you can live with failure yours and mine and still stand at the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon,“Yes.”
It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the centre of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away. I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.
