......My bride Helen wanted something that would tie her wonderful pewter heels with the rest of her outfit, and a Vintage Magpie bouquet was the answer! A few family pieces were added to the design, including a gorgeous bow brooch that was her Grandmother's.
With the photos sent of the finished bouquet, I got an e-mail exclaiming " I LOVE IT", (sent twice!)..... so I'm thinking she is happy! ; ) Enjoy Helen xxx
We managed to get Mum's studio looking gorgeous in record speed!! So we headed to the seaside for a relaxing walk along the beach, little did we know it would be blowing a gale and slightly chilly! But walking on the sand, lead in hand, watching out for a good shell or piece of seaglass is one of life's luxury's.
The bob enjoyed it, like me he gets very excited so see the sand dunes....
And to top a wonderful walk off, I saw my first swift of the year.... so summer must be coming...lets hope it better than the invisible summer of 2007!!
The call came from my mum on Monday - she needed a helping hand with her new studio. www.thevintagerose.co.uk So I packed the faithful paint covered trousers and headed for Newbury! She is due to open her studio at the weekend and a paint brush is waiting with my name on it ; ) Having arranged the table centers for a royal charity party a few weeks ago, she is a lady in demand, so all hands to the deck. Also BT have managed - in their wisdom -to cut off my broadband. So my life on the net is impossible at home!! So if you do need to contact me please phone me on 07876 344148 or post a comment on here! Hopefully thing will be back to normal soon xxx
After a request for a gift voucher from a lovely lady called Pam for her daughters Birthday present, I thought ......why havent I thought of this before?!?!? So as if by magic, the Vintage Magpie Gift Vouchers are available!! You can pay part or all of the cost of a Vintage Magpie Bouquet, as a lovely wedding present, or birthday gift...... So Thank you Pam for your wonderful idea!! I hope Bethany enjoys!!
Well after my break I knew there was lots to do and I have spent the last few days wiring!! My poor hands havent had a rest!! Not even Clarins hand cream is helping the sore fingers and rough skin!!
But I have got a lot done......
In my own way I have always loved wiring, even as a florist I was the person to call upon if any wired brides bouquet was needed. But that was, at the most, only once a week - not every day like now! I suffer for my art, I will have you know!!
Anyhow moaning doesn't get you anywhere.... so I better get going again!!
I was kindly invited to a friends, mums Wedding on Saturday at the wonderful Langshott Manor. It was a lovely relaxed day, everyone looked fantastic, and it was great to catch up with old friends. But one of the best things was waking up in my room looking out of the window to a snowy wonderland!!
I had a friend come over from Amsterdam to visit and we have just had a wonderful few days together. Brighton, London, and sitting on the beach for hours has been a great escape from a rather busy time for me and Vintage Magpie.
It amazes me that you can live somewhere and never really go and 'do' the tourist thing, so we have been to the most beautiful Royal Pavillion which took my breath away. Then after a refreshing walk on the pier, we headed to the sealife centre to see the comical sting rays with their constant happy faces, and the most graceful Sea turtles who I could have watched all day!
London was busy but great fun, we went up on the london eye, with a fantastic view even if the sun wasn't shinning! The Tate Modern being as fun, weird, and inspirational as always. Walking around an Art gallery has to be one of my most favourite things to do.
So a wonderful time was has by all, so now I'm just waiting for my friend to repay the favour and invite me to Amsterdam, somewhere I have always wanted to see. So fingers crossed!!!
Anyway I thought I would let you all know that I'm back to work now. If I haven't got back to you, I will this week, I promise!!
